18 Words ("we", "us") operates 18words.online. We respect your privacy and aim to collect as little as possible. The Service does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or other personal information to play.

2. Information we collect

We collect only anonymous, aggregate usage data through Google Analytics, including:

• Device and browser type, screen size, and approximate region (country/city-level, derived from IP address, which Google truncates).
• Pages visited and basic interaction events — such as game progress (how many words you reached) and your final score.
• An anonymous identifier stored in a cookie, used to recognize a returning device.

We do not collect your name, email address, or track you across other websites — unless you choose to email us (see Contact).

3. How we use it

We use this data solely to understand how the game is played and to improve it — for example, seeing which words are hardest or where players tend to stop.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a third-party service by Google LLC. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to collect the data described above. Google's use of this data is governed by its own policies:

We have not enabled Google advertising features, so your data is not used to show you personalized ads on this Service.

5. Cookies

The Service uses cookies for analytics (e.g., the _ga cookie). You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the game will still play, but analytics data will not be collected.

6. Data stored on your device

Your game progress and results are stored locally in your own browser (localStorage) to remember where you left off and to prevent replaying a day's puzzle. This data stays on your device and never leaves it — aside from the anonymous interaction events described above.

7. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Your choices

• Use a browser with "Do Not Track" or install an ad/analytics blocker — we do not attempt to circumvent these.
• Disable or clear the _ga cookie in your browser settings.
• Clear your browser's localStorage to erase local game history.
